Women In Arts Network Virtual Art Exhibition Faces Features Portrait by Living Dead Girl Nicole

3

I am excited to finally be able to announce that my work has been selected by the Women In Arts Network to be featured in their virtual art exhibition Faces.

This exhibition theme focuses on:
Carefully curated virtual rooms, each centered on the power and presence of the human face. From quiet, unguarded moments to bold and commanding expressions, each space reveals a different emotional truth. Together, the artworks speak to identity, vulnerability, resilience, and connection, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and recognize themselves in the faces before them. The exhibition invites artists to respond to faces not only as visual subjects, but as reflections of emotion, memory, and personal stories shaped over time. Through a wide range of mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, collage, and digital art, Faces presents many approaches to the face. Some works feel direct and familiar, while others move toward abstraction or distortion. Together, they show how faces can communicate feeling, presence, and complexity without needing explanation.
Read more here.

The exhibition runs from February 2nd – March 2nd, 2026 and the great thing is you don’t even have to leave your home to view and support the artists whose work has been selected. Everything can be viewed online via their free interactive 3D art gallery, which allows both artists and collectors from around the globe to enjoy and participate.

So please take a moment of your time to visit the exhibition link and freely scroll the walls of their two virtual gallery rooms showcasing all the mesmerizing art that was chosen, including my “I’m Not Staying On This Farm” split-face portrait inspired by Mia Goth’s portrayal as Pearl. The face of a true dreamer, displayed in Room 2.

Weird Professional Magazine Features Artist Living Dead Girl Nicole In First Issue

As I have mentioned in previous posts, I have been connecting with some really amazing folks on Linkedin as a result of being laid off last year and going full force on both my job hunt and artwork marketing endeavors. So much so that I am actually a part of many “hashtag” founded groups filled with people who understand that you can be your offbeat self and still be a professional. Breaking the stereotype that business means boring.

One of these amazing hashtags that have helped me find my fellow like minded “weirdlings” is “WeirdLinkedIn” by Orana Velarde, which then transformed into the Fellowship Of The Weird LinkedIn Group, described as “the ultimate hangout for those of us who embrace the quirky, the offbeat, and the marvelously strange. To give you a judgment-free zone where you can let your weird flag fly and to build a warm, welcoming community where anyone identifying as weird (and proud of it) feels right at home.”

And like most of us that feel right at home amongst the strange and unusual, we are also a pool filled with many talents. So Ambra Hubert wanted to find a creative way to showcase that to the world. Especially during this terrible tsunami of unemployment a majority of us are trying to survive through right now. The end result was her creating the very first issue of the Weird Professional Community Zine.

Here is a screenshot of the beautiful page layout she created that features some of the wording from my LinkedIn profile along with my Alter Ego Monsterpieces!

Be sure to give the online version a look through and discover all the weird and wonderful things everyone compiled to launch this great endeavor! It will be available on Flipbook (for 1 year) and you can also purchase a print copy of it as well.

You can also find this magazine and more examples of where my art has been featured on the Creature Features page of my portfolio website. And if you are interested in showcasing my work in your next publication, exhibition, or creative venture let’s connect and make some magic together!

Violet’s Monstrous Handmade Birthday Surprise from Aunt Living Dead Girl Nicole

0

Over the weekend we had some fun celebrating my great niece Violet’s 11th birthday. One of the MANY things I love about this little girl is her fascination with monsters, cryptids, mythological creatures, and animals. And not just typical animals either. She can lay down some facts about animals you didn’t even know existed and is a trip and half to go on zoo adventures with.

On top of all of that she loves drawing the things she loves as cartoon characters. Her talents and imagination fascinate me. She gives each character she draws names and each one has a backstory. That’s right, she’s quite the little artist herself and my husband and I have a little collection of handmade gifts and drawings she has made for us over the years and when she draws or makes something new she can’t wait to show us. Since she is getting older (she even mentioned the word pre-teen at her party to remind us all) I thought she would appreciate finally owning one of Aunt Nicole’s handmade Monstrosities.

So here is Franklin (the name she gave him), who is a “violet” and pink Moffin pencil/art supply holder and the first of its kind!

I wrapped him and the art supplies (seen in the photos) up in cellophane and tied it off with my branding ribbon. We gifted it to her with a book about cryptids and an art sticker maker she had on her wishlist. She got a complete kick out of it.

It was so rewarding to see the reaction she had and the smile on her face. She truly is quite the creature lover like her Aunt Nicole.

You can find Violet and Franklin alongside photos and videos of some of my other happy art collectors on my Freaky Fanatics page of my portfolio website. Franklin can also be found amongst my other handmade monster creations on the Monstrosities page.

And.. if you are looking for a quirky low maintenance companion to call your own, be sure to shop my creations to see which of my Monstrosities are currently available for adopting. Unlike machine mass produced collectibles, these are each handmade with loving intentions and therefore no one else in the world will ever own the one that you adopt. This makes them one-of-a-kind gifts for the person in your life that has everything and are definitely great conversation starters for your home or work decor.

If you are new here, be sure to subscribe to get updates of when my newest creations drop as I am already conjuring up some new monsters that have been lurking around in my brain.

If you are already one of my art collectors, don’t forget to contact me so you can send me your photos or Youtube video links showing how you rock, gift or display my artwork and become a featured Freaky Fanatic!
