π€ The word of the day is “EVOLVED”Β because I am totally geeking outΒ π€ while signing and packaging up these giclee prints of my “Its Gonna Be That Kind Of Morning” pencil and colored pencil art piece.
As you all know I have been a huge fan of Pee Wee Herman/Paul Reubens since I was a little girl. I am literally surrounded by his movie posters and 80s playhouse toys in my living room as I type this out. My art piece as well as my tattoo of him are even featured on his website. What you may not know is after drawing this art piece my husband and I traveled to a convention in Indy to meet and gift it to him. Unfortunately he had to cancel his appearance. The following year I purchased tickets for us to meet him during his big Pee Wee’s Big Adventure Anniversary Tour but due to COVID lock downs he was forced to cancel his last two shows, and Chicago happened to be one of them.
Then the worst news possible shook the playhouse with his passing and now the art piece sits framed in red still in the gift bag I was going to give to him along with a card expressing the ways he positively impacted my childhood and the wacky loner rebel that I am today. So in other words this piece is as sentimental to me as Pee Wee’s bike π² was to him and I did not want to risk it getting lost in the mail. The gallery owner Christina was impressed by my work and felt it really aligned and reflected the love and passion she is looking for in this special tribute exhibition so she suggested another way for my work to be a part of the show and I immediately said “AHHHHH!” (in my best Pee Wee voice) and got a hold of my printer.
So if you will be in California from July 11th – August 30th, 2026 be sure to bring your inner child to the Evolved Art Gallery in Ventura and check out the free and open to the public “I Know You Are But What Am I?” art exhibition in tribute to the wonderfully weird world of a true legend. There you will find my signed prints available to purchase at the gallery.
And if you are new here, be sure to check out the Creature Features page of my portfolio website. There you can find this exhibition listed amongst some of the other unique places my art has been featured over the years.

What a beautiful day for an exorcism….I mean an art show! Thank you to everyone who came out to the Unruly Art Market yesterday (I wish I had gotten pictures of all of you). It means the world to me that so many people in my life showed up because you see me, and you understand that art runs deep in my soul and fuels my very existence. By doing so, it’a testament of how much you truly support and believe in me, and my heart is so full right now π₯°β¨οΈ
It was also so rewarding to connect with so many new artists and reconnect with others I have known for years. Being surrounded by your amazing artwork was so fulfilling! πΌβ¨οΈ
A big HUZZAH to my friends Ellie and Strazz for venturing out early to set up, helping me keep my shit together all day, making sure our crew was fed and taken care of, lending their canopy to Melissa, staying late to help take down.. and so much more. Frank and I are so blessed to have such caring best friends in our corner. We seriously can’t thank you two enough! πβ¨οΈ
Shout out to my incredibly talented friend April Adams for wanting to give back to all her creative friends by putting on such an amazing show and motivating me to take a break from vendor retirement! It was so great to be a part of something that was truly created to support artists. πͺβ¨οΈ
Thank you to Loren at Crow and Calico for your hospitality and being my first sale of the day! Can’t wait to come back to see my It’s Gonna Be That Kindof Mornin’ Pee Wee Herman art piece on display at the bar and to spend more countless hours getting my kitty fix in from Whiskey Tea! π₯π»
Last but not least, a shout out to my husband Frank, who not only is my rock but puts up with all my shenanigans and is along for the ride for all my crazy ventures. Even when one minute I am on a high inspired and motivated and the next minute, I am overwhelmed and pulling my hair out. You see all of me, and I hope one day you can at least say I never made your life boring. π€ͺπ
If you enjoyed seeing me and so many talented LinkedIn ‘weirdlings’ πΎ featured in the debut issue of the Weird Professional Zine, then you are really going to enjoy what everyone has compiled for Issue No. 2. Not only is there more content than the debut issue, but the zine has sponsors now as well.
For this issue, we were encouraged to design our own page(s), and apparently mine is instantly recognizable because, as so many people have told me, my βbranding is on point.β I guess my 15 years of marketing experience finally has its benefits for something on LinkedIn. Now if only those skills could pay the bills and their platform would actually help me land a legit job. π
For my submission I decided to use my “Walk On The Wild Side” portrait I did of Howie Mandel and Maurice from Little Monsters. I felt it really encapsulates the strange fun vibe of the literary mag. Ironically I had submitted my page months prior to getting invited to Howie’s show and getting to meet him, so the universe really was aligned with this one and apparently my intuition was on point as well.
Here is a how my finished page looks published in the zine….
π Be sure to give the online version of the whole zine a look through and discover all the weird and wonderful things everyone submitted. It will be available on Flipbook (for 1 year) and you can also purchase a print copy (pre-orders are open until June 1st) as well.
Being a part of unique projects like this is exactly why I love sharing my work publicly.
