Evolved Art Gallery Pee Wee Herman Tribute Exhibition will Feature Signed Prints by Artist Living Dead Girl Nicole

0

πŸ€– The word of the day is “EVOLVED”Β because I am totally geeking outΒ πŸ€“ while signing and packaging up these giclee prints of my “Its Gonna Be That Kind Of Morning” pencil and colored pencil art piece.

They are headed to California and will be available for purchase at the Evolved Art Gallery during their “I Know You Are But What Am I?” art exhibition in tribute to the legendary world of Pee Wee Herman.

As you all know I have been a huge fan of Pee Wee Herman/Paul Reubens since I was a little girl. I am literally surrounded by his movie posters and 80s playhouse toys in my living room as I type this out. My art piece as well as my tattoo of him are even featured on his website. What you may not know is after drawing this art piece my husband and I traveled to a convention in Indy to meet and gift it to him. Unfortunately he had to cancel his appearance. The following year I purchased tickets for us to meet him during his big Pee Wee’s Big Adventure Anniversary Tour but due to COVID lock downs he was forced to cancel his last two shows, and Chicago happened to be one of them.

Then the worst news possible shook the playhouse with his passing and now the art piece sits framed in red still in the gift bag I was going to give to him along with a card expressing the ways he positively impacted my childhood and the wacky loner rebel that I am today. So in other words this piece is as sentimental to me as Pee Wee’s bike 🚲 was to him and I did not want to risk it getting lost in the mail. The gallery owner Christina was impressed by my work and felt it really aligned and reflected the love and passion she is looking for in this special tribute exhibition so she suggested another way for my work to be a part of the show and I immediately said “AHHHHH!” (in my best Pee Wee voice) and got a hold of my printer.

So if you will be in California from July 11th – August 30th, 2026 be sure to bring your inner child to the Evolved Art Gallery in Ventura and check out the free and open to the public “I Know You Are But What Am I?” art exhibition in tribute to the wonderfully weird world of a true legend. There you will find my signed prints available to purchase at the gallery.

And if you are new here, be sure to check out the Creature Features page of my portfolio website. There you can find this exhibition listed amongst some of the other unique places my art has been featured over the years.

And if you are interested in showcasing my work, let’s connect, chat and make some magic together!

An Unruly Mix of Classic Monstrosities! πŸ‘Ήβœ¨

0

We have officially reached the final day of my daily creation countdown updates in anticipation of the Unruly Art Market. After this post, I will be spending my time retrieving some of my creations from my Cabinets of Curiosities at Closet Collectibles, packing up my purple canopy and loading up my bins for the big show on Sunday.

This week, I’ve introduced you to some brand-new lineages of Monstrosities that I have conjured up, from my tiny Bite-Sized Monsterpieces to the stellar special edition 4×4″ Orion, and just yesterday, my brand new botanical beasties, the Potsters. But for my final sneak peek before the show, I wanted to shine a light on some familiar favorites. While these aren’t brand-new creation lines, these specific pieces are fresh, never-before-seen variations of concepts my art collectors already know and love!

The Pet Rockster πŸͺ¨πŸ‘Ήβœ¨

The ultimate low-maintenance companion is back. This newly hatched (from a real rock I found in nature) Pet Rockster features a fresh combination of fiery colors and hand-sculpted details. Like my other Pet Rocksters, it sits proudly inside its very own little cage, surrounded by sparkly soft moss, colorful faux mushrooms, and aura red crystals to feed his whimsical cravings.

Mini Jarsters πŸ«™πŸ‘Ήβœ¨

I have not one, but two brand-new Jarsters ready for the market as well. Like my other Mini Jarsters, these are also made from 3β€³ clear glass mini mason jars that I hand sculpted into the perfect blend of functional art and creature decor. They are ready to open their heads (literally) to your secrets while protecting your tiny treasures, hand written manifestations/wishes, herbs, dice, spells, and trinkets.

3×3″ Mini Monsterpiece πŸ–ΌοΈ πŸ‘Ήβœ¨

This new canvas creature packs all the texture and bite of my other 3×3″ Mini Monsterpieces, but this one is a total trailblazer like my Alter Ego versions. Done in a vibrant green texture with orange shell fangs, curled in horns and a wild shock of red hair, he is the first of his kind to rock a goatee! He’s a super cool, laid-back beast just vibing on his matching red easel, ready to bring some relaxed, monster energy to your favorite nook.

Whether you are looking to adopt a reimagined classic or one of this week’s brand-new β€‹featured species, my booth at the Unruly Art Market will be packed to the brim with handmade, hand drawn never mass produced*, whimsical weird human art.

So make sure to accept this quest and journey out THIS Sunday, May 31st to Crow & Calico in Monee, IL and claim the art that speaks to you! Just look for the purple canopy on the horizon (cause as you all tell me, my “branding is always on point” πŸ’œ ) and come say hello and give a “Huzzah!” to the girl who loves monsters, whimsy and pop culture.

Please note that any of my creations that are not purchased at the show will later be added to my Etsy shop (for online shoppers) and placed inside my Cabinets of Curiosities at Closet Collectibles (for my in-store shoppers)*

Potsters Are Officially In Bloom! πŸͺ΄πŸ‘ΉπŸŒ»

0

As you all have been getting my updates, you can see I have been spending a lot of time in my art space conjuring up creations, checking visions off my art bucket list, and preparing for the Unruly Art Market. Little did you know that this time has also been spent tending to a very special, hidden corner of my workspace due to what has been sprouting inside this whimsical weird brain of mine.

And little did I know that if I plant the seeds of a strange idea in the dark long enough, it might just start biting at me to finally bring it to life. So this artist turned impromptu botanist stopped ignoring the seedling cries of creation and started “gardening”. The end result was a brand new species of creature I’ve been cultivating that bridges the gap between cute houseplants and my Monstosities. I call them Potsters and let’s just say they aren’t your average garden-variety.

And the real magic doesn’t even start with their adorable and quirky personalities. It goes deep down in the soil. I’ve always believed that balanced positive energy makes everyone grow better.

So, when “planting” these wild little flora, I skipped the standard fertilizer. Instead, each Potster sits in a lush bed of vibrant, sparkly moss charged with hidden raw quartz crystal points that act like a little supernatural battery, giving them just enough energy to sprout those delightfully creepy faces and keep their snaggle-teeth grinning at you all day long.

Why You’ll Love Them:
✨ Zero-maintenance, allergy free, and non-seasonal (they prefer being indoors & moon bathing)
✨ They’re perfect as forever greenery for your crypt or as a floral gift for someone you love
✨ Each one has its own unique personality, allowing you to choose the one that matches your vibe
✨ They are guaranteed to spark curious conversations and enjoy listening to you brag about them
✨ They are collectible handmade art pieces you won’t find at any big box store or greenhouse

As pictured, these three pre-made botanical beasties are ready to keep showing off their petals for their forever humans. Since they are handmade and not mass produced* no two will ever be recreated exactly the same. Meaning they will only take root for the human they were destined to grow for.

Anyone attending the Unruly Art Market THIS SUNDAY, May 31st will get first dibs on adopting them. Any Potsters still searching to root themselves after the event will be added to my Etsy shop for online shoppers and placed inside my Cabinets of Curiosities at Closet Collectibles for those who wish to see and adopt one in person.*

Don’t miss your chance to add a bit of bizarre, crystal-conjured botany to your monster menagerie! πŸŒ±πŸ’Žβœ¨
