Gallerium’s Girlish Art Exhibition features ‘I Am The Somebody. I’m The Fire’ Daisy Jones Piece by Living Dead Girl Nicole 🎀🖼️🌼

I am excited to share that I have more art exhibition news! Not only is my “Invite Me In” piece being featured in the Bloodsuckers: Art Of The Undead’ exhibition that opened at Evolved Art Gallery in Ventura, California this past weekend, but now another piece of my work is being featured in a virtual exhibition curated by Gallerium on the Biafarin platform.

The theme of the exhibition is Girlish 🎀: Stories of Femininity, Strength, and Becoming: A chance to express the essence, struggles, and triumphs of girls and women by celebrating their diverse stories through art. Exploring the depths of femininity, conveying self-discovery, empowerment, societal expectations, cultural influences, and personal narratives revealing the strength, beauty, challenges, and resilience of women.

I submitted a few of my portrait pieces on a whim to see if the curators may want to feature one or all of them and was thrilled that they accepted my ‘I Am The Somebody. I’m The Fire’ piece that I hand drew in pencil and chalk pastels in tribute to Riley Keough as Daisy Jones. 🌼 Not just because I love the piece, but because the character of Daisy and her journey truly fits the theme so perfectly.

When submitting the work they asked for description of what inspired the piece in which I wrote:

I Am The Somebody. I’m The Fire.” is a traditional pencil and soft chalk pastel portrait paying tribute to the feisty, determined character of Daisy Jones, played by Riley Keough, in the musical drama series Daisy Jones & The Six. Inspired by the 1970s rock scene and heavily rooted in Fleetwood Mac lore, the piece channels a nostalgic seventies aesthetic to capture Daisy’s turbulent journey toward self-belief and artistic independence. The title and composition pull references from various defining moments in Daisy’s journey, focusing closely on the iconic aesthetics of the fictional Aurora album photo shoot. Ultimately, this portrait honors a fiercely resilient woman overcoming an unsupportive past to follow her dreams, find her fire, choose happiness, and become her own “somebody,” a creative force who refused to be anyone’s muse but her own.

The exhibition is already being featured in Art Week and includes this really cool collage of all the incredible work that was accepted by the 86 artists for the show:

So be sure to check out this virtual exhibition taking place September 12th – November 12th, 2026 via the online gallery platform and be sure to give my piece some love (via the ❤️ icon next to the listing) while you are there.

Please note that my piece shows up in this exhibition as Not For Sale because the original 8×10″ version is in my personal collection in hopes that maybe one day I cross paths with Riley and can gift it to her. After all, Daisy did teach us ladies to believe in ourselves and to follow our dreams.

And just because I am dreaming does not mean my art collectors can’t enjoy this piece for their very own collection. Made-to order giclee, metallic, canvas prints and t-shirts of the piece are available to order in my Etsy shop, and if you are a local to Illinois there is currently still an 8×10″ and 4×6″ canvas print of this piece on display and available to purchase from my Artist Of The Month Display at Soundgrowler! If you love rock music you will definitely love the atmosphere there!

Last but not least, if you are new here, and just happened upon this post, be sure to check out the Creature Features page of my portfolio website. There, you can find this exhibition listed alongside some of the other unique places my art has been featured over the years. And if you’re a gallery, curator, publication, or other outlet that is interested in showcasing my work, let’s connect, chat and make some magic together!

Stay Strange & Magical, ✨

Team Helena Bonham Carter

I am posting this picture because one, if I had seen it before this whole Anne Hathaway Instagram situation I probably would’ve posted it anyways.

I get why Anne took it down. She doesn’t want drama and she probably doesn’t want poor press. However I think she was right for originally posting it and here is why….

In this day and age girls have terrible role models. Should girls be idolizing those they see on TV and movies all the time … no but it happens. We all do it. It’s a matter of making sure your children are looking up to the right ones.

I don’t have children but I would much rather see my nieces, cousins and goddaughter looking up to someone like Helena Bonham Carter. She is beautiful, amazingly talented and earned her way. She didn’t do it with sex tapes and being famous by association. She doesn’t sell herself out or flaunt herself for fame or attention. She also seems like if you met her she would be amazing to hang out with. She isn’t a cookie cutter person and I admire that most about her. I often think of how cool it would be to sit down with her and Tim Burton and pick their intelligent brains. I wouldn’t even want to be in the same room of stupidity with Kim and Kanye. Which just goes to show what people bring to society.

The Kardashians are a prime example of what is being taught wrong to this generation growing up. Everyone wins, everyone gets a trophy, and it doesn’t really matter how hard you try. And if that doesn’t work post a half naked shot of your “ass”ets and all will be ok again. What is that teaching our youth about success? Not to mention degrading woman by posting naked photos and “leaking” sex tapes to draw attention to ourselves. Yes we should be proud of our bodies. I get that. But why should you have to flaunt your body to be someone? Why can’t you just work hard and be a beautiful person? Earn your way!

So with that you can call me #teamhelenabonhamcarter and I am right there with you Anne! I know you felt you had to take it down but deep down I understand why you posted it to begin with! Thank you for drawing attention to the awesome photo I didn’t know existed! I think it’s bad ass and I completely support it!

Stay Spooky!
