These corpsified love birds shipped out to their new tomb sweet tomb this past week and I am so happy to finally get to share them here with my art collectors.
Whenever I get a commission request to make a set of these undead bride and groom decor pieces, I feel so honored. Being a former non-traditional Halloween bride myself, I love when other couples do what reflects who they truly are instead of following some boring set protocol for their special day. So to have someone choose my custom hand made creations to be a part of their milestone moment is truly very special to me.
Sometimes people use these for their cake toppers, some use them for wedding reception, anniversary or engagement party decor, and some even have them made as one-of-a-kind gifts to celebrate that unique couple who is getting married or celebrating a milestone anniversary. For this particular set I was commissioned to include a groom with brown eyes and black hair and a bride with green eyes and long blonde hair. Both with 2 eyes and the wedding color for the bride’s veil flower being black. I also started a new process of including a new type of faux moss on these which allowed me to also add it to the bottom of each piece for a nice graveyard effect. A little something extra that I feel makes them even more fun to display. 🪦

The updates have been dropping like vamps in Sunnydale this week, and the momentum isn’t stopping just yet. I know your feed and your inbox are taking a hit, but I wouldn’t want you to be… “bored now” would I? So, “buckle up, Rupert”, because I’ve got some more news to share with my art collectors and the prophecy is now ready to be revealed.
Now, if you are one of my art collectors who has been following my artventure journeys here, you are already fully aware that my dream is to gift Alyson Hannigan my original 8×10″ version of this piece and therefore its not available for sale. So I am contributing a rare, first-of-its-kind 16×20″ canvas print specifically for this show! This certificate confirms that the artwork identified herein is a limited-edition, professionally produced canvas print created specifically for:The Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel Tribute Exhibition Show at Moby’s. The original piece was hand-drawn by the artist using pencil and chalk pastels on 8″x10″ paper. This document certifies that this piece is the first-ever 16″x20″ canvas print produced from the original artwork.

Daily gallery access to see the exhibition is completely free at Moby’s, but the curators and production staff will also be hosting a ticketed Celebrity Kickoff & Drusilla After Dark Event on opening night, Saturday, October 17, featuring a public signing and evening screening with the one and only Juliet Landau! ⚰️
And that’s not all. They are also hosting a ton of other Buffyverse themed events during the duration of the show. Being stuck out in the Midwest and just reading about everything they have planned gives my jealousy quite the “Spike”. Oh, and did I mention, Moby’s is brewing up some Buffy themed drinks and cafe items as well! You know the tea drinker in me would be dying to sink her teeth into those! ☕️

It’s breast cancer awareness month and for those who know me personally, you are already fully aware of the impact this disease has had on me. At the age of only 39 my Mom lost her battle and since the age of 10 I have had to navigate this world without her. Due to this I have been getting mammograms, ultrasounds and MRIs for over 20 years and I am happy to say I got double the good news on this subject today.
One, I got my results back from annual mammogram last week and all is clear. I follow up for my annual MRI aka “double check” in the spring. Second, my ‘Unbreakable’ art piece was selected to be featured in another virtual exhibition curated by Gallerium on the Biafarin platform.
The theme of the exhibition is Cancer 🩷 Never Give Up: Inspire, Honor, Heal: Dedicated to raising cancer awareness, honoring survivors, remembering those lost to cancer, and supporting medical progress and healing through visual storytelling. Every October, the world turns its eyes to cancer awareness, symbolized so often by the pink ribbon. Yet cancer is not one story, but millions—woven through patients, survivors, families, caregivers, friends, and even the animals we love. This exhibition brings those stories to light, not through medical charts or statistics, but through the profound language of art.
When I submitted Unbreakable’ I was not sure if it would get chosen despite knowing how truly aligned the art piece was to the theme. So when the exhibition asked for an artist statement to go along with my piece I summed it up with the following:
‘Unbreakable’ is a pencil and chalk pastel portrait I created as a deeply personal tribute to Shannen Doherty and her mother, Mama Rosa. I chose a warm brown background to bring out her gentle country charm, making the piece feel grounded and full of warmth. This artwork captures a symbol of the unbreakable bond between a mother and daughter.. a connection that nothing, not even cancer, can ever break. As a daughter who lost her own mother to breast cancer, there are so many times I wish I could still share things with her. This piece was my way of giving Shannen something truly special that she could still share with hers. I originally drew this to gift to Shannen in person, but cancer took her just days before we were set to meet. However, the universe found a way to bring this piece home. Thanks to Shannen’s best friend, Holly Marie Combs, I was able to get the original artwork directly to her, and she made sure it was safely given to Mama Rosa in honor of Shannen’s legacy.

And more then anything, I hope this post popped up for my female art collectors today as a reminder of just how important it is to go get that mammogram scheduled and on your calendar. Blessed be. 💕
Growing up, you could hear me saying his name quite often in hopes he would appear. My Dad even dressed up like him for Halloween one year when I was a kid, complete with a replicated, light-up tombstone he made for the front porch, which he sat next to while entertaining trick-or-treaters. Many, many moons later, I requested that he walk me down the aisle to the opening credits of the movie on my wedding day. It was not only special to us, but it was also a movie my husband and I bonded over when we were dating. Needless to say, this art piece has been on my art bucket list for a very long time. So, I turned up the juice with my drawing pencils, and I am very happy with what shook loose.
Although I had previously drawn Michael Keaton in a split face portrait of Batman, I had yet to draw him as the beloved bio-exorcist I grew up adoring. Keaton has brought so many iconic characters to life and is easily one of the most entertaining actors to watch. When planning this piece, it was crucial that it didn’t just depict Beetlejuice, but truly reflected my deep admiration for Keaton’s talent. I wanted the artwork to radiate the nostalgia of that specific era, honoring the actor during a peak time in his career that defined so much of my childhood.
Well now, “IT’S SHOWTIME!” and I am incredibly excited to finally share this completed pencil and chalk pastel piece with my collectors. So say it once, say it twice, this is “Third Time’s A Charm”…
