Closet Collectibles Art Drop and Restock Alert 👀 🛍️

0

Now that September has passed and my Soundgrowler Artist of The Month Display time is over, I made a trip this weekend to Closet Collectibles and restocked and rearranged my Cabinets of Curiosities for all of my in-store art collectors*!

So be sure to take a moment this spooky season to escape the aisles of cheaply made imported Halloween “decor” that anyone can buy and get your claws on some human made, unique collectible art you can’t get anywhere else. By doing so you are not only supporting me as an artist but you will also be supporting an incredible small business who believes in me.

Not in Illinois? My Etsy shop is always open and ready for my out of state collectors.

And.. don’t forget, I still have rare canvas prints (that come complete with Certificates of Authentication) on display and available to purchase at both the Evolved Art Gallery’s Bloodsuckers: Art Of The Undead Exhibition (running in person and online through October 31st) & The Chicago Fine Art Salon’s Chicago Icons Exhibition (running in person and online through November 6th). By purchasing these pieces during these exhibitions you are not only showing the galleries that my work is worthy of their wall space but you are also showing your support for galleries that are doing incredible things for our art community.

Soundgrowler Brewing Features Living Dead Girl Nicole as Artist of the Month for September 🍻🖼️✨

4

I could not have asked for a ghouler way to kick off the “ber” months and spooky season than by being able to announce that I have been chosen by Soundgrowler to be their Featured Artist of the Month for September! This means my work will be on display and available to purchase at their brewery all month long!

Last night my husband Frank and I loaded up the truck in the smoldering heat, headed to the brewery to enjoy some tacos and drinks off their menu and got to work setting up my display. I can honestly say I could not have done it all without him. He helped me unload everything and get the nails and my prints on their display board just how I had envisioned it during the months of planning. I set up the tables and print racks and got his feedback along the way. Together we were able to put together a great display of my work and I could not be happier with how it came out.

Of all the times I have been to Soundgrowler and admired the Artist of the Month displays over the years, it was surreal looking over and seeing that the work now on display was actually mine.

Now as you can see my display is all prints of my hand drawn/hand painted pieces of artwork. This includes 2 very rare 16×20″ giclee framed prints that are the first of their kind! This also means my hand crafted pieces of work are still on display in my Cabinets of Curiosities at Closet Collectibles in Crete, IL. along with a sign I designed to inform my art collectors who shop there that my prints are temporarily on display at Soundgrowler in Tinley Park, IL. for the month of September and will be restocked in early October.

My goal was to allow my art collectors to be able to go experience both of these amazing small businesses who support me as an artist. I mean who wouldn’t want to get engulfed in nostalgia while getting in a treasure hunting fix at one place and then follow it up with some delicious Mexican food and uniquely crafted drinks in a rocking atmosphere at the other. Allowing you to spend your hard earned money this spooky season at local small businesses instead of big box stores and inauthentic beer and food chains.

And when you do, please be sure to tell them both that Living Dead Girl Nicole sent ya and make sure to snap a few photos of you with my displays and the work of mine you purchase. I would love to feature them in my Freaky Fanatics slideshows!

And as someone whose marketing brain never stops, I also designed this flyer that is being used to promote my collaboration with this killer brewery and would love if everyone could take a moment to share it (and this post) to help spread the word. You may have already even seen it in the September issue of the Artflow Alliance Insider e-newsletter that just hit inboxes yesterday (thank you once again Dominique)!

Want to see other ways my artwork has been featured? Then be sure to check out the Creature Feature section of my portfolio website. And… if you are interested in showcasing my work in your next publication, exhibition, or creative venture let’s connect and make some magic together!

The All Hallow’s Potster Collection Has Bloomed! 🕷️🪴👹

1

After my brightly colored, sparkly and quirky spring variety of Potsters completely sold out, I couldn’t resist getting my claws into “gardening” again. Little did I know that by switching things up to a lush bed of hand-dyed graveyard moss, blood-red aura quartz charged by a lunar eclipse, and welcoming a little spider friend into each hand-painted terracotta pot, that I would conjure up a new variety of Potsters that would sprout oversized fangs, black foliage, spooky seasonal colored petals, and some wickedly adorable personalities.

So as an artist turned impromptu botanist once again, I am very excited to officially share my Limited Edition All Hallow’s Potster Collection. Four vampy little Potster Monstrosities exclusively for autumn and Halloween season (or if you’re like me, spooky it up all year long)!

No glittery sparkle was added to bright green moss or the hand painted pots this time, instead I hand dyed the moss giving it a darker grave yard vibe and gave the pots a metallic sheen. I substituted the clear crystal quartz from the spring variety with blood-red aura quartz. I also gave each of them a little spider friend to keep them company while their energy sparked during the lunar eclipse. Their disk florets didn’t form into adorable golden brown faces but instead silvery black with macabre sass. And instead of snaggle toothed grins smiling up at you, they snap back with venomous oversized fangs.

Why You’ll Love Them:
✨ Allergy free and low maintenance (they love being charged under the full moon from time to time)
✨ They’re perfect as forever greenery for your crypt or as a floral gift for your favorite fiend
✨ Each one has a unique personality/spooky season color, choose the one(s) that matches your vibe
✨ They are guaranteed to spark curious conversations and won’t snap back (unless provoked)
✨ They are collectible pieces of art you won’t find at any big box or Halloween stores

As pictured, these four pre-made botanical beasties are ready to find their forever humans and add a uniqueness to your spooky season (or every day) decor. Since they are handmade and not mass produced* no two will ever be recreated exactly the same. Meaning they will only take root for the human they were destined to grow for.

They have already made their debut in my Etsy shop and are available to purchase for online shoppers. Any that have not been adopted by the time I make my next art drop at Closet Collectibles will be also be added to my Cabinets of Curiosities display for local collectors who wish to see and adopt one in person.*

Don’t miss your chance to add a bit of spooky fun, crystal-conjured botany to your monster menagerie! 🕷️🪴💎✨
