Chicago Icons Exhibition at Chicago Fine Art Salon will Feature ‘You’re All Grown Up Now’ Svengoolie Piece by Living Dead Girl Nicole πŸ™οΈ πŸ“Ί πŸ–ΌοΈ

I am excited to share yet another art exhibition announcement! My ‘You’re All Grown Up Now‘ split face portrait of Jerry G. Bishop and Rich Koz was accepted by New Gallery to be a part of the Chicago Icons Group Art Exhibition taking place at their Chicago Fine Art Salon!

As described by the curator, “this exhibition digs into the history, culture, and people that makes Chicago unique. From the L to the lakefront, deep dish to deep house, this show celebrates the people, places, and cultural moments that are uniquely, undeniably Chicago.” πŸ™οΈβœ¨

When I saw the call for art for this exhibition I knew I had to submit to it. You really can’t talk or even think of Chicago icons and not think of Svengoolie, which is why I am truly honored to be the artist whose work will represent not just our horror community in general but a legendary Chicago-born horror movie hosting program and local legend that has entertained generations of us fans as a staple of Chicagoland television and broadcasting for over 50 years. πŸ“Ίβœ¨

Now, if you are one of my art collectors who has been following my artventure journeys, you are already fully aware that the original 8×10″ version of this piece was gifted directly to Rich Koz himself, and was even recently featured on his MeTV show last month. Therefore the original is not available for purchase. So I have contributed a rare, 16×20″ canvas print specifically for this show that comes with a certificate of authenticity that states the following:

“This certificate confirms that the artwork identified herein is a limited-edition, professionally produced 16″ x 20″ canvas print created specifically for: Chicago Icons Exhibition show at the Chicago Fine Art Salon. The original piece was hand-drawn by the artist using pencil, colored pencils & chalk pastels on 8″x10” paper & is not only owned by Rich Koz/Svengoolie himself, but was also featured on The MeTV Svengoolie television show.“

So, if you are a local Chicagoan or happen to be in the Chicagoland area between October 2nd – November 6, 2026 make sure to visit New Gallery‘s Chicago Fine Art Salon and see this special piece on display amongst the other amazing pieces of artwork representing iconic interpretations of Chicago. And for those who are not able to make it to the gallery itself, this unique piece will also be available to purchase directly from the gallery’s shop page on their website during the duration of the show.

Last but not least, if you are new here, and just happened upon this post, be sure to check out the Creature Features page of my portfolio website. There, you can find this exhibition listed alongside some of the other unique places my art has been featured over the years. Happy October 1st my Freaky Fanatics! I have some fun and exciting news to share with all of you! Night Terror Magazine just released Issue 25 of their killer publication today and this one is extra special. The Of The Land & Winter Wails Issue is not only a community issue but it’s also their first quarterly issue and it features a very ghoul Holiday Gift Guide spotlighting small businesses that were hand selected by their editors…. including mine!

How fun are these graphics they created for the social post announcements….

This literary mag is filled with incredible folklore and short stories from the very talented horror community and although you can scroll the pages digitally online, I highly recommend purchasing a print copy. Not just for that nostalgic feeling of reading something in your hand that isn’t on a screen, but also to see all the hard work that goes into every page this publication puts together. You can find my work and shop featured in the gift guide section on page 60 of the digital zine (screen shot below) and can also order a copy in their shop on their website.

For those not familiar with Night Terror Magazine here is a snippet about them and why I was honored to be chosen to be a part of what they are producing:

Authors, artists, creatives, and enthusiasts make up this incredible community and it’s our mission to provide a platform to encompass the creative sphere. Night Terror supports the artistic liberation of self-publishing and empowers independent creators in the horror genre.

Gallerium’s Girlish Art Exhibition features ‘I Am The Somebody. I’m The Fire’ Daisy Jones Piece by Living Dead Girl Nicole πŸŽ€πŸ–ΌοΈπŸŒΌ

I am excited to share that I have more art exhibition news! Not only is my “Invite Me In” piece being featured in the Bloodsuckers: Art Of The Undead’ exhibition that opened at Evolved Art Gallery in Ventura, California this past weekend, but now another piece of my work is being featured in a virtual exhibition curated by Gallerium on the Biafarin platform.

The theme of the exhibition is Girlish πŸŽ€: Stories of Femininity, Strength, and Becoming: A chance to express the essence, struggles, and triumphs of girls and women by celebrating their diverse stories through art. Exploring the depths of femininity, conveying self-discovery, empowerment, societal expectations, cultural influences, and personal narratives revealing the strength, beauty, challenges, and resilience of women.

I submitted a few of my portrait pieces on a whim to see if the curators may want to feature one or all of them and was thrilled that they accepted my ‘I Am The Somebody. I’m The Fire’ piece that I hand drew in pencil and chalk pastels in tribute to Riley Keough as Daisy Jones. 🌼 Not just because I love the piece, but because the character of Daisy and her journey truly fits the theme so perfectly.

When submitting the work they asked for description of what inspired the piece in which I wrote:

I Am The Somebody. I’m The Fire.” is a traditional pencil and soft chalk pastel portrait paying tribute to the feisty, determined character of Daisy Jones, played by Riley Keough, in the musical drama series Daisy Jones & The Six. Inspired by the 1970s rock scene and heavily rooted in Fleetwood Mac lore, the piece channels a nostalgic seventies aesthetic to capture Daisy’s turbulent journey toward self-belief and artistic independence. The title and composition pull references from various defining moments in Daisy’s journey, focusing closely on the iconic aesthetics of the fictional Aurora album photo shoot. Ultimately, this portrait honors a fiercely resilient woman overcoming an unsupportive past to follow her dreams, find her fire, choose happiness, and become her own “somebody,” a creative force who refused to be anyone’s muse but her own.

The exhibition is already being featured in Art Week and includes this really cool collage of all the incredible work that was accepted by the 86 artists for the show:

So be sure to check out this virtual exhibition taking place September 12th – November 12th, 2026 via the online gallery platform and be sure to give my piece some love (via the ❀️ icon next to the listing) while you are there.

Please note that my piece shows up in this exhibition as Not For Sale because the original 8×10″ version is in my personal collection in hopes that maybe one day I cross paths with Riley and can gift it to her. After all, Daisy did teach us ladies to believe in ourselves and to follow our dreams.

And just because I am dreaming does not mean my art collectors can’t enjoy this piece for their very own collection. Made-to order giclee, metallic, canvas prints and t-shirts of the piece are available to order in my Etsy shop, and if you are a local to Illinois there is currently still an 8×10″ and 4×6″ canvas print of this piece on display and available to purchase from my Artist Of The Month Display at Soundgrowler! If you love rock music you will definitely love the atmosphere there!
