Weird Professional Zine No. 2 Features “Walk On The Wild Side”Artwork By Living Dead Girl Nicole πŸ‘Ύβœ¨

If you enjoyed seeing me and so many talented LinkedIn ‘weirdlings’ πŸ‘Ύ featured in the debut issue of the Weird Professional Zine, then you are really going to enjoy what everyone has compiled for Issue No. 2. Not only is there more content than the debut issue, but the zine has sponsors now as well.

For this issue, we were encouraged to design our own page(s), and apparently mine is instantly recognizable because, as so many people have told me, my β€˜branding is on point.’ I guess my 15 years of marketing experience finally has its benefits for something on LinkedIn. Now if only those skills could pay the bills and their platform would actually help me land a legit job. πŸ™ƒ

For my submission I decided to use my “Walk On The Wild Side” portrait I did of Howie Mandel and Maurice from Little Monsters. I felt it really encapsulates the strange fun vibe of the literary mag. Ironically I had submitted my page months prior to getting invited to Howie’s show and getting to meet him, so the universe really was aligned with this one and apparently my intuition was on point as well.

Here is a how my finished page looks published in the zine….

🀩 A big shoutout to our Fellowship Of The Weird Editor-in-Chief, Ambra Hubert πŸ¦„ for continuing to make this literary magazine possible and for giving all of us β€˜weirdlings’ πŸ‘Ύ a platform to express ourselves without judgment!

Sir Kadean Side Quests Adds Artist Living Dead Girl Nicole To Realm Marketplace

0

HUZZAH! I am thrilled to share that Sir Kadean Side Quests has added my artwork to their Realm Marketplace, a curated showcase to give creators a place to share their work and reach new audiences, while offering their side questers a space to discover handmade goods, original art, and independent makers from throughout “the realm”. βš”οΈβœ¨

For those not familiar with the Sir Kadean Side Quests, it is a fantasy-inspired community I discovered on Instagram. It was created to help people reconnect with joy, imagination, and purpose in everyday life. What began as a personal response to burnout and unhealthy productivity habits grew into a welcoming space where people can approach life like an adventure through interactive side quests, storytelling, journal prompts, creative challenges, artwork, and community connection. By encouraging reflection, creativity, and self-growth in a fun and approachable way, the project has helped people build healthier habits, rediscover motivation, support independent creators, and feel less alone while navigating life’s challenges.

I am honored to have my work on a website with such a fantastical vision, so please take a moment to check out my featured creator profile under the Illustrations section of the Realm Marketplace. You can also always find it bookmarked along with some of the other spotlights and features of my artwork on the Creature Features page of my portfolio website.

Women In Arts Network Spotlights Artist Living Dead Girl Nicole in Exclusive Interview Feature

0

I am still so honored to have had my “I’m Not Staying On This Farm” split face portrait of Mia Goth chosen to be featured in the Women In Arts Network Faces Exhibition. Being invited to do an exclusive interview made the experience even more meaningful, and after reading the piece they just published about me and my work, I am truly in awe of how beautifully they captured my essence.

The world has enough safe, predictable, easily categorized art. What it needs is more artists like Nicole who show up covered in glitter and fake blood with a monster under one arm and a Prismacolor pencil behind their ear and make exactly the thing nobody asked for but everybody needed.

For those not familiar with the Women in Arts Network, here is a snippet from their website to help you get you familiar with their mission…

The Women in Arts Network is a one-of-a-kind global platform that unites talented women in the arts, offering them a thriving space within the art world. We bring together writers, podcasters, gallerists, curators, and more, fostering not only collaboration but also celebration. It’s a place where collaboration isn’t just possible, it’s celebrated. Here, women from around the globe don’t just connect, they form powerful networks and lasting friendships. So, whether you’re on the hunt for talent or ready to showcase your own, Women in Arts Network is just the place for you.

Weird Professional Magazine Features Artist Living Dead Girl Nicole In First Issue

1

As I have mentioned in previous posts, I have been connecting with some really amazing folks on Linkedin as a result of being laid off last year and going full force on both my job hunt and artwork marketing endeavors. So much so that I am actually a part of many “hashtag” founded groups filled with people who understand that you can be your offbeat self and still be a professional. Breaking the stereotype that business means boring.

One of these amazing hashtags that have helped me find my fellow like minded “weirdlings” is “WeirdLinkedIn” by Orana Velarde, which then transformed into the Fellowship Of The Weird LinkedIn Group, described as “the ultimate hangout for those of us who embrace the quirky, the offbeat, and the marvelously strange. To give you a judgment-free zone where you can let your weird flag fly and to build a warm, welcoming community where anyone identifying as weird (and proud of it) feels right at home.”

And like most of us that feel right at home amongst the strange and unusual, we are also a pool filled with many talents. So Ambra Hubert wanted to find a creative way to showcase that to the world. Especially during this terrible tsunami of unemployment a majority of us are trying to survive through right now. The end result was her creating the very first issue of the Weird Professional Community Zine.

Here is a screenshot of the beautiful page layout she created that features some of the wording from my LinkedIn profile along with my Alter Ego Monsterpieces!

Be sure to give the online version a look through and discover all the weird and wonderful things everyone compiled to launch this great endeavor! It will be available on Flipbook (for 1 year) and you can also purchase a print copy of it as well.

You can also find this magazine and more examples of where my art has been featured on the Creature Features page of my portfolio website. And if you are interested in showcasing my work in your next publication, exhibition, or creative venture let’s connect and make some magic together!
