An Unruly Mix of Classic Monstrosities! πŸ‘Ήβœ¨

0

We have officially reached the final day of my daily creation countdown updates in anticipation of the Unruly Art Market. After this post, I will be spending my time retrieving some of my creations from my Cabinets of Curiosities at Closet Collectibles, packing up my purple canopy and loading up my bins for the big show on Sunday.

This week, I’ve introduced you to some brand-new lineages of Monstrosities that I have conjured up, from my tiny Bite-Sized Monsterpieces to the stellar special edition 4×4″ Orion, and just yesterday, my brand new botanical beasties, the Potsters. But for my final sneak peek before the show, I wanted to shine a light on some familiar favorites. While these aren’t brand-new creation lines, these specific pieces are fresh, never-before-seen variations of concepts my art collectors already know and love!

The Pet Rockster πŸͺ¨πŸ‘Ήβœ¨

The ultimate low-maintenance companion is back. This newly hatched (from a real rock I found in nature) Pet Rockster features a fresh combination of fiery colors and hand-sculpted details. Like my other Pet Rocksters, it sits proudly inside its very own little cage, surrounded by sparkly soft moss, colorful faux mushrooms, and aura red crystals to feed his whimsical cravings.

Mini Jarsters πŸ«™πŸ‘Ήβœ¨

I have not one, but two brand-new Jarsters ready for the market as well. Like my other Mini Jarsters, these are also made from 3β€³ clear glass mini mason jars that I hand sculpted into the perfect blend of functional art and creature decor. They are ready to open their heads (literally) to your secrets while protecting your tiny treasures, hand written manifestations/wishes, herbs, dice, spells, and trinkets.

3×3″ Mini Monsterpiece πŸ–ΌοΈ πŸ‘Ήβœ¨

This new canvas creature packs all the texture and bite of my other 3×3″ Mini Monsterpieces, but this one is a total trailblazer like my Alter Ego versions. Done in a vibrant green texture with orange shell fangs, curled in horns and a wild shock of red hair, he is the first of his kind to rock a goatee! He’s a super cool, laid-back beast just vibing on his matching red easel, ready to bring some relaxed, monster energy to your favorite nook.

Whether you are looking to adopt a reimagined classic or one of this week’s brand-new β€‹featured species, my booth at the Unruly Art Market will be packed to the brim with handmade, hand drawn never mass produced*, whimsical weird human art.

So make sure to accept this quest and journey out THIS Sunday, May 31st to Crow & Calico in Monee, IL and claim the art that speaks to you! Just look for the purple canopy on the horizon (cause as you all tell me, my “branding is always on point” πŸ’œ ) and come say hello and give a “Huzzah!” to the girl who loves monsters, whimsy and pop culture.

Stay Strange & Magical ✨

Please note that any of my creations that are not purchased at the show will later be added to my Etsy shop (for online shoppers) and placed inside my Cabinets of Curiosities at Closet Collectibles (for my in-store shoppers)*

My Pet Rockster Brings Comfort and Charm to William’s Desk Space

0

One of my new art collectors, William, discovered my one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted Pet Rocksters on my LinkedIn and had to adopt one for his very own.

Not only did William provide one of my Monstrosities a happy new home, but now it proudly sits on his desk next to a photo of his beloved dog, who passed away earlier this summer. I could not be more honored to know that this little creature I conjured up from nature is now bringing him joy, while guarding the cherished memory of his furry friend.

Getting this photo submission was another beautiful reminder of the healing presence that art can hold, especially when I hand-make each piece with loving intentions and the hopeful vision that what I am creating will bring joy to those who need it.

What William had to say about my work on LinkedIn

“Nicole, I really admire your work! I love how you’re not trying to recreate what’s already been done, but instead striving to be innovative and true to your own style. That uniqueness not only sets you apart but also inspires others to think differently and embrace their own creativity. Keep pushing forward, you’re making a real impact with your originality!”

If you’re new here, be sure to check out Williams’s photo featured alongside some of my other happy art collector submissions on my Freaky Fanatics page of my portfolio website.

Looking for a quirky low maintenance companion to call your own? Shop my creations online or at Closet Collectibles to see which of my Monstrosities are still available, so you can get one before they are gone!

πŸ“£ Attention Art Collectors! My artwork has moved to a new area of Closet Collectibles. You will now find my creations in the Cabinets of Curiosities, taking center stage as the main focal point of their brand new horror themed room!

Rearranging of the store now allows collectors to easily find all the spooky, strange and unusual items they love but all in one area of the store! Including items from Trick or Treat Studios, NECA, and more!

This weekend’s art drop included the following:

Here are a couple of pictures I took of the Eat Your Heart Out snow globe framed print before I dropped it off. When you shake it, red hearts and glitter magically appear, then settle at the bottom until the next time you give it another shake. It’s the perfect gift for any Tiffany Valentine – Jennifer Tilly fan who has everything and is looking for something more unique than what’s overly manufactured and mainstream.

Be sure to go check everything out and don’t forget to tell them Living Dead Girl Nicole sent ya!

New Limited Edition Pet Rockster and Zombie Decor Now At Closet Collectibles!

0

Over the weekend the hubby and I did an art drop at Closet Collectibles which included a new fuchsia purple Pet Rockster for those who love my whimsical creations and a Limited Edition Zombie Light Switch Cover for those who prefer the macabre side of my creations.

Here are some photos I took of each item before dropping them off at the store.

Fuchsia Purple Pet Rockster:

Zombie Horror Decor Light Switch Cover:

As you know, no two items I handcraft are ever the same. So once they are gone they are gone, making them that much more fun to get your hands on. So if you love these new items, you can support me as an artist by purchasing them online in my Etsy Shop or by visiting Closet Collectibles (Crete, Illinois location) to see them in person and get them at my discounted* in-store prices.

If you are new to my blog and ended up here due to your love of Monsters and Zombies be sure to also visit the Adopt The Undead & Moffins and Rocksters pages of my portfolio website to see more of my past creations.

I wanted to add that this weekend I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I sold my first canvas print to a Closet Collectibles shopper. This was just the win I needed to keep me motivated and the sign I needed to keep pushing through. Since being laid off I have been focusing a lot of my energy on new ways for my art collectors to enjoy my work and these canvas prints were a big part of kicking that off for me. So needless to say I am truly grateful someone saw one in person and decided to bring it home with them.

With that being said I wanted to get some feedback from everyone as to how you would like to see me restock canvas prints at Closet Collectibles. As you all know, whenever any 8.5″ x 11″ giclee print of mine sells out there, I always restock it to make it available to other shoppers. However canvas prints are more pricey, take a little longer turnaround time, and require more space. This means I can only have so many on display at one given time. Right now I am leaning more towards replacing a sold out canvas print with an entirely different piece to help rotate and keep things new and exciting, but I would love to get your feedback in the poll below.

Stay Strange & Magical,
LDG Nicole

*Price is discounted from online store prices. Etsy listings reflect the unfortunate amount of shop and transaction fees they charge us artists to sell online. If you are local or traveling to Illinois, I encourage my clients to save money and see my work on full display by shopping my artwork in person with my consignment partner, Closet Collectibles where they truly support my creative endeavors to the fullest as their resident local artist.
