One of my new art collectors, William, discovered my one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted Pet Rocksters on my LinkedIn and had to adopt one for his very own.
Not only did William provide one of my Monstrosities a happy new home, but now it proudly sits on his desk next to a photo of his beloved dog, who passed away earlier this summer. I could not be more honored to know that this little creature I conjured up from nature is now bringing him joy, while guarding the cherished memory of his furry friend.
Getting this photo submission was another beautiful reminder of the healing presence that art can hold, especially when I hand-make each piece with loving intentions and the hopeful vision that what I am creating will bring joy to those who need it.
What William had to say about my work on LinkedIn…
“Nicole, I really admire your work! I love how you’re not trying to recreate what’s already been done, but instead striving to be innovative and true to your own style. That uniqueness not only sets you apart but also inspires others to think differently and embrace their own creativity. Keep pushing forward, you’re making a real impact with your originality!”
If you’re new here, be sure to check out Williams’s photo featured alongside some of my other happy art collector submissions on my Freaky Fanatics page of my portfolio website.
While networking with fellow creatives on LinkedIn, I had the honor of connecting with Frank Schieber who invited me to do an artist interview feature for his platform, Cool Hand Frank!
Not only was it an insightful and energizing conversation, but I’m also thrilled to be the very first artist spotlighted in their brand new interview series. We had a blast diving into the inspiration behind my branding and artistic pseudonym, how Midwest horror, pop culture, and the local rock scene have shaped my work, my evolution through different artistic mediums, and which iconic figures living and dead I dream of gifting my art to. I also share some fun facts that might surprise my collectors, how the Soska Sisters pulled me out of an artistic funk, and even reveal my go-to beverage for keeping the creative blood flowing.
“For starters, getting a message from someone named Living Dead Girl Nicole is one hell of an attention-getter. Second, I’m a sucker for word fusion when it’s done well and her self-described title of Artrepreneur was both unique and relatable. Third, a David Bowie quote on her LinkedIn profile? Come on. That sealed the deal for a dialogue. We exchanged messages for a week. Her intelligence was clear, as was her deep passion for all things horror and fantasy genres I rarely dabble in. What really struck me, though, was how seamlessly she connects those worlds with celebrity-centered pop culture. So I asked to interview her, and she said yes. Enjoy this brief chat with an exceptional multimedia artist whose reputation in the horror and fantasy convention scene is growing fast!” – Continue reading* the full feature article here!

Being featured by a publication is always an honor, especially when it’s a platform that uplifts creatives and reminds us that art still matters in a world full of noise. It’s rare to find a space that not only showcases talent but also nurtures it, encourages honest expression, and connects artists with audiences who truly appreciate their work. I’m proud to be a part of the conversation and it makes me excited to keep creating, connecting, and pushing boundaries!
I just wanted to take a moment to thank Mar Della Greca for the awesome write-up she did about me and my artwork on her killer platform, TBM Horror.
“The Dead Girl’s world is stitched together from obsessions with horror, glam rock, cult cinema, and the distorted innocence of the Henson-Burton lineage. A Bride of Frankenstein made up of Elvira’s camp and Jem’s sparkle, Nicole is a self-made mythical creature channeling her reverence for the strange and unusual into an ever-evolving body of work…” Check out the full feature article here!

For those not familiar with TBM Horror, they love collaborating with and supporting creatives in the horror genre community and describe themselves as “a haven for horror enthusiasts”. As you know, I am always enthusiastic to extend and grow “my horror family” network and therefore I am incredibly honored to have my work be discovered and featured by them.
Just a friendly reminder that National Handmade Day is April 5th! While it’s always encouraged to support handmade small businesses all year long, this Saturday is a great time to celebrate and show local artisans that you believe in them! ✍️🔫👩🏻🎨✨️
