Evolved Art Gallery Bloodsuckers Exhibition will Feature ‘Invite Me In’ Jessica Hamby Piece by Living Dead Girl Nicole πŸ«¦πŸ–ΌοΈπŸ§›πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Following a highly successful run at the ‘I Know You Are But What Am I?’ Pee-wee Herman exhibition, where all of my prints sold out and I had the lovely experience of working with Christina (the gallery owner) who is a absolute gem, I decided to submit to Evolved Art Gallery‘s next showcase: Bloodsuckers: Art Of The Undead’ πŸ§›πŸ»β€β™€οΈβœ¨

With that being said, I am thrilled to announce that my work was accepted, and this time it won’t be in the limited edition print rack. Instead for this show, my ‘Invite Me In’ pencil, colored pencil and charcoal portrait piece inspired by Deborah Ann Woll’s portrayal of Jessica Hamby in True Blood 🫦 will creep up the walls with all the other incredible vampy art that has been accepted into the show.

Now, if you are one of my art collectors who has been following my artventure journeys, you are already fully aware that the original 8×10″ version of this piece was gifted directly to Deborah Ann Woll, and therefore its not available for sale.

Since baby vamp Jessica herself has the piece in her collection, I am contributing a rare, first-of-its-kind 16×20″ canvas print specifically for this show! It will come with a certificate of authenticity that states the following:

“This certificate confirms that the artwork identified in this document is a limited edition professionally printed canvas print made specifically for the Evolved Art Gallery Bloodsuckers Exhibition. It is the first canvas print of this specific art piece to ever be printed in a 16″x20″ size.Β The original artwork that this canvas print was created from was hand drawn in pencil, charcoal & colored pencil on 8″x10″ paper & is owned by actress Deborah Ann Woll,Β whose portrayal of Jessica Hamby in True Blood inspired the artist to create it.”

So, wither you are a fangbanger or creature of the night who happens to be near Ventura, California be ready to rise September 12th – October 31st, 2026 and come thirsty for some killer art made by over 70 artists at Evolved Art Gallery! The opening takes place on the 12th with free viewings every weekend through Halloween. While you are there, be sure to tell Christina that Living Dead Girl Nicole sent ya! She works incredibly hard to put these shows on, and I am truly honored to have my work be selected once again by “a fine art gallery for creative misfits!“πŸ¦‡

And if you are stuck in the Midwest like me, or anywhere else that is far away from the “Golden State” of Cali, you will be happy to know that all the pieces in this show will be available to sink your teeth into online as well. That’s right…you don’t have to miss out supporting us artists involved in this show cause your crypt is too far away. You can go take a bite of the action via the gallery’s Shop page once the show opens and get your claws on these one-of-a-kind vampiric pieces from the shadows of your very own tomb sweet tomb. ⚰️

Every piece in the gallery is strictly human-made, celebrating gothic lore, cinematic immortality, and creatures of the night. So spend your money wisely this spooky season and choose one-of-a-kind human made art instead of mass produced garbage. I promise, you most definitely won’t find anything featured in this line up at a Spirit Halloween.

Evolved Art Gallery Pee Wee Herman Tribute Exhibition will Feature Signed Prints by Artist Living Dead Girl Nicole

1

πŸ€– The word of the day is “EVOLVED”Β because I am totally geeking outΒ πŸ€“ while signing and packaging up these giclee prints of my “Its Gonna Be That Kind Of Morning” pencil and colored pencil art piece.

They are headed to California and will be available for purchase at the Evolved Art Gallery during their “I Know You Are But What Am I?” art exhibition in tribute to the legendary world of Pee Wee Herman.

As you all know I have been a huge fan of Pee Wee Herman/Paul Reubens since I was a little girl. I am literally surrounded by his movie posters and 80s playhouse toys in my living room as I type this out. My art piece as well as my tattoo of him are even featured on his website. What you may not know is after drawing this art piece my husband and I traveled to a convention in Indy to meet and gift it to him. Unfortunately he had to cancel his appearance. The following year I purchased tickets for us to meet him during his big Pee Wee’s Big Adventure Anniversary Tour but due to COVID lock downs he was forced to cancel his last two shows, and Chicago happened to be one of them.

Then the worst news possible shook the playhouse with his passing and now the art piece sits framed in red still in the gift bag I was going to give to him along with a card expressing the ways he positively impacted my childhood and the wacky loner rebel that I am today. So in other words this piece is as sentimental to me as Pee Wee’s bike 🚲 was to him and I did not want to risk it getting lost in the mail. The gallery owner Christina was impressed by my work and felt it really aligned and reflected the love and passion she is looking for in this special tribute exhibition so she suggested another way for my work to be a part of the show and I immediately said “AHHHHH!” (in my best Pee Wee voice) and got a hold of my printer.

So if you will be in California from July 11th – August 30th, 2026 be sure to bring your inner child to the Evolved Art Gallery in Ventura and check out the free and open to the public “I Know You Are But What Am I?” art exhibition in tribute to the wonderfully weird world of a true legend. There you will find my signed prints available to purchase at the gallery.

And if you are new here, be sure to check out the Creature Features page of my portfolio website. There you can find this exhibition listed amongst some of the other unique places my art has been featured over the years.

Halloween Henson Coven 2022!

0

So last year for Halloween weekend my husband Frank and I went on a little road trip to have Famous Monster pizza for our wedding anniversary dinner and came home in time for Halloween day where I transformed myself into a Muppet (Dr. Teeth to be exact). Then this year we went on a longer road trip to see Muppets and got home in time for Halloween day where I transformed myself into a “supreme” witch! The best of both worlds 2 years in a row and my heart is full.

You could imagine when we got to Grand Rapids Art Museum for the Jim Henson Exhibition, Imagination Unlimited that I would take tons of photos with everything in the exhibit. I narrowed it down to some of my favorites to share here and it was still hard to choose. For instance, Labyrinth has always been my all time favorite movie. I had a hard time pulling myself away from Jareth’s iconic Goblin King Masquerade suit. If people were not waiting for their turn to see it I could’ve stood there all day in complete awe. Just knowing there was only a display case between me and this sparkly wonder that David Bowie (aka as my “fairy godfather”) wore just blew my mind. I felt the same magic at that very moment that I felt the first time my Dad introduced me to the film as a young gelfling.

When it came to the puppets themselves it felt like you were about to meet a celebrity. I know that sounds crazy.. but that excitement you get standing in line at a con to meet your favorite actor.. add your inner child about to burst at the seams of your very existence and that was me.

One of the really remarkable things about this exhibit was not only being this close to Jim Henson’s work but also seeing the workmanship and production materials up close. From to the materials used on Grovers mouth.. to the glass in Count Von Count’s monocle, it was truly remarkable to experience as a fan but also take it all in as an artist who has been inspired by the magic of Jim Henson their whole life. We walked the exhibit multiple times and I even got to experience putting on a puppet show in a booth they had set up. As you can see from the cheesy grin on my face I didn’t want to leave.

When we got home from our little anniversary getaway it was time to finally reveal this year’s costume to everyone on Halloween day. Not checked off my art bucket list (yet) but officially off my costume bucket list.. I present to you the one and only real supreme.. Myrtle Snow (as portrayed by me but originally portrayed by the incredible Frances Conroy in American Horror Story). I loved how naturally my sassiness came out reincarnating the look of Myrtle. Forever one of my all time favorite AHS characters I couldn’t help but feel powerful stepping into her shoes.

I hope all my Freaky Fanatics had a wonderful Halloween and I appreciate all of your patience with getting back to you on art and order inquiries while I have been away.

If you are new here and like this post, be sure to check out theΒ Skinned pageΒ ofΒ my portfolio website and feel free to leave a comment with the costume you think I should do next year!
