Freaky Fanatic: Sam

2

I absolutely love when people reach out to me to customize my Ghoulish Garments. I often get asked to add the title of the art piece to the design because people tend to like the catchy titles that I give to them.

I was contacted by Beckie to do just that with my Barbie Eat Your Heart Out (Jennifer Tilly/Tiffany) piece. She had previously ordered the print and came back and ordered the customized shirt. Both were for her awesome daughter, Sam (also an artist) who has now become a big fan of my work (honored). She recently sent me this photo of Sam and it made my day! Apparently, Sam wears it all the time! How cool is this? Complete with Tiff leather jacket and all……..

Spitting Image: Friends Til The End

For those of you who love my “Barbie.. Eat Your Heart Out” portrait (of Jennifer Tilly/Tiffany) from Bride Of Chucky,Β Β wait until you see what I just got done checking off my art bucket list! Here’s a clue…..

Charles Lee Ray Brad Dourif Childs Play

That’s right. It’s Tiffany’s “other half” aka as Charles Lee Ray/The Lakeshore Strangler/Chucky played by Brad Dourif. I call this oneΒ “Friends Til The End”…..

I have been wanting to draw this one for a long time. Child’s Play had a big impact on me as a young horror fan. I remember it truly scaring me when I saw it for the first time (and to watch it now I can’t help but laugh thinking about it). But when Child’s Play came out I was also 7 or 8 years old. I just remember sinking into my seat trying not to look scared and watching it with one eye open and the other one partially closed. I had seen other horror films but none of the killers in those movies looked like a My Buddy doll ha ha. That was a whole new ball game for someone with a bedroom full of dolls and a puppet obsession.

When I drew this piece I kept both eyes open. I also kept all you Freaky Fanatics in mind. So for those of you that already own a print of my Tiffany portrait this piece was designed to complement that piece and you can now hang them together.

Purchase prints and ghoulish garments of this new piece in my Etsy and Amazon shops!

Spitting Image: Eat Your Heart Out

So every time I hear the song “Call Me” by Blondie I immediately think of one of my favorite scenes in The Bride Of Chucky (which happens to be my favorite of all the Child’s Play movies).

Well coincidentally we watched The Curse Of Chucky a few weekends ago and without spoiling it for anyone there is a cameo by Jennifer Tilly towards the end of the movie that really just made me super giddy (and to me was the best part of the entire movie). I was then inspired to draw this piece I had been wanting to draw for quite some time.

I call it “Eat Your Heart Out!”

Prints are available in my Etsy Shop. At this time the original is not for sale. I think I am going to hold on to it in hopes Jennifer Tilly graces her presence at one of our Chicago cons (a girl can dream). You can see more of my Spitting Image Portraits on my official portfolio website!

Skinned: Transformed Myself Into A Creepy Killer Doll

4

So over the weekend we helped my brother set up for Trick or Treaters on Halloween. This included using our hearse parked in his driveway for added effect and my husband chasing kids with a chainsaw ha ha. His yard looked amazing before we got there and then with our added props and the hearse it was awesome.

I have always wanted to attempt a creepy killer doll makeup and costume for Halloween. So I went for it this year. Everything I already had at home except the dress and white eyeliner. So it was not only fun but affordable. he greatest thing is that after I was done doing my makeup I sent my photo to no one recognized me. Even my brother and my Dad asked who it was ha ha! One group of kids was afraid to come up to the porch and get candy from me. Mission accomplished! The funny thing is I am so pale I didn’t have to use a ton of white makeup to lighten the base of my face ha ha. It did work wonders for highlighting though. I guess that is why I get compared to a porcelain doll all the time ha ha. I was really happy with the way it came out and the reactions I received. I think I look like Annabelle’s cuter younger sister ha ha.

Here are the photos that I shared with them via text and on instagram….

I captioned the first one “hot date with Jigsaw tonight, eat your heart out Chucky!” and the 2nd one “what happens when you tell a girl too many times that she looks like a porcelain doll”

And here are a few my husband took of me in my brothers yard and in front of our Frankenhearse for fun….

(On the left is before the rain stopped. We had a canopy over the back of the hearse so it could be open but stay dry but could still be open and on display)

And it being a tradition my brother took a a photo of Frank and I under the wedding arch we got married under 6 years ago (for those new to my art blog, our wedding anniversary is also on Halloween). We donated the arch to my brother’s Halloween decor stash a few years ago and every time he sets it up we try to make it a point to take a photo under it for fun!
