Dead Girl Decay: Ava Turns 7!

3

If you look at my Freaky Fanatic Slideshow you can actually see my god daughter Ava growing up through out all the photos ha ha. Needless to say since she was 1 she has rocked numerous Aunt Nicole “fairy goth mother” creations. This year she turned 7 and her mom/my best friend Regina got her a grey and lavender butterfly dress for her to wear. She was so excited about the dress that I couldn’t help but make her a matching barrette for her special day. She is also at that fun age where she likes to play dress up so when she sawย it she immediately wanted to wear it. She loved it along with the Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy dolls we got her. Here are a few photos from her special day.

Check out more of the barrettes I have made for young girls as well as babies under the Batling Section of my Dead Girl Decay page! Contact me to do a custom order for the special little lady in your life.

Skinned: Howdy Folks! It’s Halloween 2016

5

So this is my last post of the night. I told you the weekend was eventful ha ha. The best for last of course is Halloween day! Not only our favorite holiday but also our wedding anniversary. So of course we took the day off of work to celebrate.

Started off the day by heading over to my brother’s house and adding our decorations to his already awesome yard. This of course included Frankenhearse ๐Ÿ™‚ which he wanted to be parked right in the middle of all the action.

You can kindof see Elsa there in the driver seat of Frankenhearse. She made her debut yesterday and was a big hit. Her main man Frankenstein was chillin in the back like he usually does. This time complete with strobe lights and smoke machines.

After getting the yard ready we headed back home so I could get myself ready. I had a wig to style and a whole face of makeup to do on myself. Goal = Lady Captain Spaulding! I had planned out this costume before all the stupid fear of clown crap started this year and I was not about to back out because people are idiots . Not only cause when I want to do something I do it, but because I love Sid and have always wanted to do this costume as a fun tribute to him. This was the year ….and I was not backing out.

I have to admit (pats self on back) that it came out exactly how I wanted it to. I also had a blast taking selfies in my best Sid expression to show people how the makeup came out…….

I had some added special items in my costume which included my Top Secret Clown Business button and Hot Dog Asshole shirt from Sid. It really made the costume complete as if Spaulding himselfย helped put it together and was with me rockin’ it!

As soon as we got back to my brother’s house I had to take a photo with Frankenhearse whileย showing off my entire costume. Frank came up with a great idea to take the photo next toย my website decal that is on the back window. Genius!

After our Halloween wedding in 2009, we donated our gothic wedding arch to my brother’s Halloween stash. He always does a cool cemetery scene and I knew it would make for an awesome gate. With living in a town home we don’t have much for a yard to decorate or a lot of storage space and I wanted it to go somewhere special. Since giving it to my brother we started a tradition. Every year Frank and Iย stand under or in front of it and my brother snaps a photo of us. This is our 7 year wedding arch photo…………

As you can see Frank dressed up as well and his goal was to find a bizarre scary mask and bust out the chainsaw to scare everyone. He got one for my brother too. A lot of people made reference to the pig faces reminding them of the new season of American Horror Story. Frankย wasn’t even going for thatย when he bought them but loved the added fact that it made people freak out even more ha ha.

As it got darker out the yard looked even more amazing. Between the lights in the yard, the smoke machines, the lights in and out of Frankenhearse etc. cars were constantly stopping by to see everything.

Last but not least this is a photo that ended up happening because my brother had fried chicken in his fridge and we could not resist it ha ha.

We call it “EAT MORE CHICKEN!” ha ha ha ha

Dead Girl Decay: Barrettes for Lauren and Baby Mia

1

This weekend was a busy but eventful one.ย Sunday was our cousin’s baby shower. Whenย I found out they were having a girl I was super stoked to get crafting away on gifts for baby Mia. I was inspired by things that I knew Lauren really liked.

This included a set of my Mummy & Me (matching for Mother and Daughter) Sugar Skull barrettes. I knew they were doing the baby’s nursery in lavendar so I wanted to incorporate that special color in the set. Not only symbolic but when not in use she can hang them as decor in the room if she wants to. I also know how much Lauren loves Hello Kitty. So I couldn’t help but make a leopard print Hello Kitty barrette for baby Mia as well!

Lauren really loved them and told me she can’t wait until Mia is here to share them with her.

Remains: Homicidal Maniac With A Touch of Stardust

1

Saturday we had a few people over for our annual pumpkin carving tradition. Thanks to Zombie Pumpkins for always making each year a success and giving us and our guests so many awesome stencils to choose from.

If you have followed my blog for many years or have checked out the Remains page of my site, you know that from time to time if a stencil I want to do is not available then I create my own. I have done Baby Firefly from House of 1000 Corpses, Lily Munster (before there was one) and even Pee Wee Herman. However, this year as soon as I saw the Christina Ricci/Wednesday Addams stencil (on the Zombie Pumpkins site) I instantly wanted to do it. Frank felt the exact same way when he saw “The Bow” (as Henry Rollins calls him) as Ziggy Stardust.

The entire time as I was carving I kept saying quotes from the movie. Such as “I’m a homicidal maniac. They look just like everyone else” ha ha.

Here was the end results of how our pumpkins turned out…

And here is a shot ofย the whole group’sย pumpkins together….

Did you carve pumpkins this year? What did you carve?
