Loves: Happy Birthday Elvira!

#tbt to the times we met my idol…..

elvira

The woman I have wanted to be ever since I was a young batling. Other girls wanted to look like Barbie and when I saw my Dad’s cardboard cut out of Elvira I knew Barbie had it all wrong. I even attempted it for Halloween when I was about 8/9 years old….

The best part was telling Cassandra about this in person. How my Mom wouldn’t let me cut the top or bottom of the dress. Even back then I was obsessed with making sure my Halloween costumes were on point ha ha.

Happy Birthday Cassandra Peterson! Thank you for making these memorable moments a reality. Especially the day I gave you my Sinderella portrait. I will forever be grateful for your reaction that day when I gave it to you!

I am honored to have you tattoo’d on my arm as a part of my Pretty Scary sleeve! So many people see it and reminisce about how much they adore you. They tell me stories and talk about how stunning you are and how you always have been.

Thank you for inspiring woman that it’s sexy to be different!

Spitting Image | I Had Wings Once

Well Freaky Fanatics I finished another portrait based off of my love of movies. Or more less my all time favorite fairy tale villain…. Maleficent. She has been my favorite fairy tale villain since I was a kid. Although my love of Kristin Bauer as Maleficent in Once Upon A Time is well known. Or my love of Kristin Bauer in general is well known…. I decided that since I already drew her as Pam and I have always wanted to show my appreciation for Angelina Jolie I would go a different route with my favorite villain portrait. I have always admired Angelina Jolie not only for her acting but for standing out as a unique individual. There is something I also share deeply with Angelina and that is loosing our mother’s to cancer and the void that we both feel. Her decision to get a masectomy is a very familiar thing to me. Not because I have had one but I have been asked by my doctors to decide if I should ever want to get tested to see if I carry the breast cancer gene. If so a masectomy would be the end result for me as well. I have chosen to not children and at this point have not made a definite decision if I will ever get tested, however I highly respect and look up to Angelina for her decision to do so for her children.

With that I call this one “I Had Wings Once”…..
