Freaky Fanatics: Wilson Baby Shower

0

I am excited to be able to post another special handmade gifting post. 2 weeks of gifting my work and both for wonderful reasons.

Last week was my cousin’s bridal shower and this weekend our friends Bryan and Robyn had their baby shower. They are having a little girl who they are naming Piper (after Piper from Charmed.. how cool is that?! Very!) and well you can’t have a baby girl and not get one of my barrettes… or two.

Frank and I got them a few things off their registry and then I added these little butterfly baby barrettes into the mix.

I got a few extra photos after the shower of Daddy To Be Bryan and Auntie To Be Lisa (both long time very dear friends to Frank and I). The Wilson’s have always been a 2nd family to us. You may recognize them from some of our wedding photos as they both stood up in our wedding πŸ™‚

Freaky Fanatics: Nellie’s Bridal Shower

2

This is another one of my special Freaky Fanatic posts that involves me gifting my art to one of my loved ones. This past weekend I had fun celebrating my cousin Nellie as a Bride To Be! She is getting married this October and her bridal shower was a lot of fun and very memorable.

Frank and I got her and Vince a cool floor lamp off their registry but I decided to make a little something special for the bride as well. I thought she would dig one of my Vintage Burlesque Dead Girl Decay Barrettes, so I made her one that I hope years from now will remind her of her special day….

As you can see from the look on her face that she really liked it…

Last but not least here is a photo of me (right) with my beautiful cousins at the shower….the Bride To Be Nellie (in the middle) and her sister Chelsea (left).

Loves: Happy Birthday To The Most Courageous Woman I Have Ever Known

This is one of the few and precious photos I have of my Mom holding me as a young batling. The look on both our faces says it all. Her looking so proud and me looking so happy.

Happy Birthday to the woman who in more ways than one, shaped me into the strong woman I am today. You are forever missed but never forgotten. Your legacy lives on in Mike and I because you gave us a solid foundation to live by. We will always be eternally grateful and proud for having such a courageous, beautiful and loving woman to call Mom.

Your Daughter,
Nicole

Wizard World Fan Fest Chicago 2015

3

You may have gotten the hint from Friday’sΒ post that I was preparing for a big day on Saturday!

I felt like a giddy fang banger in line at Wizard World Fan Fest yesterday. I had my hot pink and white zebra print gift bag all ready (thanks to my sister in law for the killer bag she wrapped my birthday present in last month). Inside was my original “Bite Me” portrait of Pam ready to hand over to the amazingly talented Kristin Bauer. As many of you know she is one of my favorite actresses and her portrayal of one of my favorite book characters has impressed me over and over again. First Pam and now my favorite fairy tale villain Maleficent. I just can’t get enough of her.

Everyone knows howΒ beautiful Kristin Bauer is on the big screen but in person WOW! Seriously WOW! Then to top it off she was just incredibly sweet and grateful for the drawing I gave her. She thanked me and asked if I would like it in the photo op we were about to take. She then thanked me again before I walked away and gave me a hug. First Rose McGowan in November and now another girl crush hug from Kristin Bauer! All unexpected and as a thank yous for my art gifts.Β WIN!

Since I knew I wouldn’t get a lot of time to talk to her during the photo op and couldn’t afford another ticket for the autograph line I decided to put a card in the bag telling her that the drawing was a token of my admiration and a thank you for inspiring me to use my talent to help others.

As you may already know from my past posts that I reached out to Kristin’s team a while back and a portion of the proceeds received from selling any of my Pam inspired creationsΒ in my Etsy shop (including prints of this portrait I just gifted to her) will go to The Amanda Foundation. One of Kristin’s favorite foundations to help. You can read more about it in my past post here.
